⚠️ Rogue Trader Warning for Wollaton Residents ⚠️

The Local Neighbourhood Policing Team would like to make residents aware of a recent incident involving suspected rogue traders operating in the Wollaton area.

We have received reports of individuals knocking on doors and offering to carry out driveway repairs and maintenance work. On this occasion, the individuals were described as white males with ginger hair and Irish accents, travelling in a grey Toyota van with ladders on the roof.

Please Be Vigilant!!

Rogue traders often target householders by offering unsolicited work, claiming repairs are urgently needed, or offering services at seemingly attractive prices. In some cases, work may be completed to a poor standard, significantly overpriced, or not completed at all.

How to Protect Yourself:

Be cautious of cold callers offering services at your door.

Never feel pressured into agreeing to work immediately.

Obtain quotes from reputable companies before committing to any work.

Ask for identification and details of the company they represent.

Check online reviews and seek recommendations from trusted friends or family.

Never hand over cash upfront or allow access to your bank details.

If in doubt, simply close the door and seek advice from someone you trust.

Calling 101 and providing as much information as possible, including vehicle descriptions and registration numbers where available.
